THE YEAR OF INVINCIBILITY
STORIES THAT INSPIRE
We are looking for stories that inspire.
An email with such a baffling subject line was sent to our EBA member companies in early March 2022. The full-scale war had just broken out — and, to tell the truth, there was little inspiring about that time. Our people kept on doing their job while either evacuating from Kyiv and other cities that were closely approached by russian troops, hiding in bomb shelters, helping to hold the city defence or volunteering.
However, the shock of the first days promptly gave way to a sense of determination — our community, the EBA team and our people got to work to defeat the enemy together. Ukrainians stood in lines at military enlistment offices, helped neighbours, searched for vital medicines, bought cars and armour for soldiers, delivered food under fire, rescued animals, wove camouflage nets, and tried not to lose their minds.
After 365 days of the great war, we continue to do these and a million other things that only Ukrainians can do. We sow fields, write codes, drive cars, build houses, treat patients, repair roads, write books, count budgets, consult, and produce — we do what we do best.
At the beginning of the massive invasion, there was a lack of good news. So to cheer ourselves and others up a bit, we started collecting and publishing your stories. Instead of proofread corporate releases, we received a few paragraphs in messengers — genuine and inspiring. That's how they appeared — stories that helped us survive; stories that inspire.
And today we would like to share them with you again to look back at the path we have overcome and to prepare for the path that lies ahead.
Surely, there are many more such stories, and business continues to help and support the country to this day. And we are proud of how brave, progressive, and innovative business in Ukraine is, and how unbreakable the EBA members are!
And, of course, we continue to work — each of us on our own front, in our companies, in our families. Let's continue to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and those who need our help, and together we will bring Victory closer!
